Applications are invited from suitable candidates for Project Associate-I (PAT-I) to work on the in house Project No. MLP 000080 of CSMCRI titled “Operation, maintenance and running of CI-STARS facility at Modernized Experimental Salt Farm for demonstration of increased salt productivity, quality of Salt on field with Climate resilient design, modernized operations and integration of pilot-scale processes & technologies of the CSMCRI in operational environment of 180 acres’ Model Salt Farm.”
Essential Qualifications:
PAT-I: Master’s Degree in Chemical Sciences/ Chemistry from a recognized University.
Desirable Experience
The candidate should possess desirable experience in the analysis of salt and brine samples for key parameters for its quality control for suitable experiments for chemical industry. He has experience & skilled for brine transfer in salt works for quality control on field. Hands-on experience with advanced analytical instruments including ICP, XRD, XRF, and SEM is essential. The candidate must be skilled in the preparation of standard and test solutions for various sample types such as brine, salt, fly ash, and concrete, ensuring accuracy and consistency in laboratory procedures. Additionally, practical experience in handling and transferring brine for field-scale salt production experiments is required. The individual should demonstrate strong technical competency, attention to detail, and the ability to support both laboratory analysis and on-site experimental activities effectively.
Job Description
The candidate will work on the operation and management of brine systems, including monitoring climatic data and maintaining density profiles across reservoirs, condensers, and crystallizers at the CI-STARS model salt farm of CSIR-CSMCRI. The role involves efficient pump operation for brine transfer based on accurate depth and density readings, along with providing continuous support for field-scale brine movement and process optimization. The candidate should also be capable of operating pilot plants at the CI-STARS facility for the recovery of valuable chemicals, critical elements, biomass cultivation, and water purification processes. Active involvement in ongoing R&D activities at CI-STARS, along with participation in extension field activities and regular ESF site visits for experimental monitoring and data collection, is essential. The individual should demonstrate strong technical skills, field adaptability, and the ability to contribute effectively to both research and operational objectives.
Monthly /Emoluments:
PAT-I:
- 31,000 + HRA for those candidates who have qualified CSIR–UGC / ICAR / ICMR NET incl. lectureship/assistant professorship or GATE or those who have qualified National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments like DBT/DST or equivalent and/or their Agencies/Institutions.
- 25,000 + HRA for others who do not fall under (a) above.
Age: 35 Years as on date of Online Interview (Age relaxation is applicable as per CSIR Rules)
Duration: Project Associate-I (PAT-I) will work in CI-STARS Facility Kumbharwada. The candidate has to work at ESF, Kumbharwada or CSIR-CSMCRI, as and when required This position is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. The engagement of a project staff in different projects either in the CSIR - Central Salt & Marine Chemicals Research Institute, Bhavnagar or different Lab./Instt. of CSIR taken together shall not exceed 6 years in any case. It would, therefore, not confer any right/claim implicit or explicit for any candidate for claiming extension or absorption in CSIR-CSMCRI, Bhavnagar.
