Essential Qualification(s):

Masters degree (M.Sc.) in Chemistry (preferably with Physical Chemistry specialization) / Biochemistry / Biotechnology

Desirable:

  1. Knowledge of computer programming (C/C++, Python, Perl, etc.)
  2. Experience with computer simulations (e.g. Molecular Dynamics, Monte Carlo methods) 
  3. Basic knowledge of laboratory skills/ ethics to execute/ wet-lab experimentations
  4. National-level examination - Junior Research Fellowship / LS / GATE Qualification

Emoluments @ pm (in ₹):

(a) 31,000/- + HRA as admissible for those candidates who have qualified CSIR-UGC / ICAR / ICMR NET including lectureship/assistant professorship or GATE or those who have qualified National level examinations conducted by Central Government Department like DBT/DST or equivalent and/or their Agencies/Institutions

(b) 25,000/- + HRA as admissible for others who do not fall under (a) above

Duration:

This position is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. The engagement of a project staff in different projects either in the CSIR - Central Salt & Marine Chemicals Research Institute, Bhavnagar or different Laboratories/Institutes of CSIR taken together shall not exceed 06 years in any case. It would, therefore, not confer any right or claim implicit or explicit, for any candidate to seek extension or absorption in CSIR-CSMCRI, Bhavnagar. 

Selected candidates will be allowed for PhD from AcSIR, if fulfil the eligibility criteria of AcSIR.

Job Description:

Selected candidate will work on the CSIR sponsored project, entitled “Development of improved Kappaphycus and Gracilaria variants for better growth & stress tolerance through a Non-GMO approach” in WP-02 under HCP0024 (III Phase) project. The project involves an integrated computational and experimental approach to study biomolecular structure, dynamics, and function, to improve the thermal tolerance of the marine macroalgae or seaweed.
