Title of the Project: “Identification of potential locations across India for Seaweed Cultivation and their valorization”, funded by CSIR, New Delhi (P.C. No. HCP0024)

Total no. of Posts: Project Associate–I (4 Nos); Project Assistant–II (5 Nos); Project Assistant–I (1 No).

Walk in- Interview on 17.07.2025 at CSMCRI – Marine Algal Research Station Mandapam, Ramanathapuram District, Tamil Nadu.

Project Associate-I:  Total 4 post

Qualification:

M.Sc in Botany/ Biotechnology/ Marine Biology/ Marine Science/Microbiology/Bio-chemistry/ Oceanography/Chemistry.

Desirable qualifications

Experience in seaweed cultivation and certification in Scuba diving.

nature of work:

Selected candidates should be frequently travelling to Andaman/Lakshadweep islands for survey work and ready to work in open sea cultivation and lab for seedling production

Emoluments:
  1. Rs.31,000/- + HRA as per CSIR guidelines for those candidates who have qualified CSIR-UGC/ICAR/ICMR NET incl. lectureship/assistant professorship OR GATE OR those who have qualified National level examinations conducted by Central Governments like DBT/DST or equivalent and/or their Agencies/Institutions.
  2. Rs.25,000/- + HRA for others who do not fall under (a) above.

Age limit:

35 years as on the date of walk-in-interview. Age relaxation is applicable as per CSIR rules.

Project Assistant- II: 5 post

B.Sc Biotechnology/Marine Biology/ Marine Science/ Microbiology/Bio-chemistry/ Chemistry/ Botany (or) 3 years Diploma in Marine/ Chemical engineering.

Sufficient knowledge / prior experience in seaweed cultivation in open sea and tank systems, and seaweed processing of different hydro-colloids at pilot-scale.

20,000/-per month + admissible HRA.

35 years as on the date of walk-in-interview. Age relaxation is applicable as per CSIR rules.

Project Assistant- I: 1 post

SSC or 10th plus ITI (Electrician/Fitter/Maintenance Mechanic (Chemical Plant)/Mechanic/Machinist)

Experience in field work and outdoor tank cultivation of seaweeds.

18,000/-per month + admissible HRA

35 years as on the date of walk-in-interview. Age relaxation is applicable as per CSIR rules.

Applicatants those who are working as a Project Associate / Project Assistant / Field Assistant / Research scholar or any other mode in CSIR institutions / Universities / other government organizations need to be submit “No Objection Certificate” from their present Project Leader or competent authority in the letter head with seal. Candidates applying without knoweldge of their Project Leader or Competent authority, candidates will be whole responsibility for any enquiry and CSIR – CSMCRI and MARS, Mandapam will not be responsible.

Interested and eligible candidates are allowed for walk-in- Interview that will be held at CSIR – CSMCRI – Marine Algal Research Station, Mandapam camp – 623 519 on 17.07.2025. Ramanathapuram district. No TA/DA will be provided for appearing interview.
