Applications are invited from suitable candidates for a temporary position to work at CSIR-CSMCRI on a supporting R&D in emerging fields of S&T on State Priority Areas under STI Fund, sponsored research project “Deployment of Sustainable Concrete for Reducing Brine Water Losses in Earthen Salt Pans: An Experimental Investigation at CSIR-CSMCRI, Bhavnagar.” (Project No. GAP-2154) financed by DST-Gujarat Council on Science and Technology (DST GUJCOST) (Govt. of Gujarat), India. The project is joint research project of CSIR-CSMCRI, Bhavnagar and Civil Engineering Department, Nirma University, Ahmedabad. The project details, requisite qualification & experience etc. are given below:

Essential Qualifications:

B.E./B. Tech./M.E / M.Tech. Civil Engineering from a recognized university or equivalent.

Desirable Qualifications:

Candidate who have qualified the GATE/ NET- CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) etc. national level exams conducted by central Govt. Department and their agencies and Institutions will be preferred.  

Fellowship:

1. Candidate with valid GATE/CSIR-UGC NET qualification: 25,000/- per month + HRA as per GSBTM Guidelines of GUJCOST.

2. Candidate, Who are Non-GATE/Non-NET qualification: 18,720/- per month as per GSBTM Guidelines of GUJCOST.

Duration: These positions are purely temporary for the period of one year up to 08/06/2025. That JRF will work in both CSIR-CSMCRI, Bhavnagar and Nirma University, Ahmedabad, as per project requirement. The candidate have to work at Nirma University or CSIR-CSMCRI, as and when required. It would, not confer any right/claim implicit or explicit for any candidate for claiming absorption in CSIR-CSMCRI or Nirma University.

Age: As on the last date of receipt of the application, maximum 28 years. Age relaxation is applicable as per GUJCOST rules.

Desirable experience: The candidate with specialized research or work experience in Concrete technology/ Structural /Geotechnical Engineering will be preferred.  Preference will be given to the person having M.E/M. Tech. in Civil Engineering and experience in preparing concrete and performing concrete tests. The candidate will be required to work at CSIR-CSMCRI, Bhavnagar and Nirma University, Ahmedabad for project activities.

Job Description:

• Preparation of concrete mix design in laboratory of Nirma University & CSMCRI
• Field implementation of sustainable concrete bed prototype in Salt Farm of CSIR-CSMCRI, Bhavnagar.
• Project involved laboratory testing and
• Fieldwork related to concrete mix designs.
