Applications are invited for Senior Project Associate and Project Assistant - II (PA-II) to work in the research project entitled “Microbial synthesis of Polyhydroxyalkanoates and Poly Lactic acid”.

Position: Senior Project Associate (1 Post)

Essential qualifications for Senior Project Associate:

M.Sc. Degree in Marine Biology/Biotechnology/Botany from recognized university with 3 years of experience in the area of Microalgal Biotechnology in Research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organisations and Scientific activities and Services,

OR

M.Tech in Biotechnology/Biochemical Engineering/Fermentation Technology from a recognised University or equivalent.

OR

PhD in Biological Sciences/Marine Biology/Biotechnology/Botany/Microbiology from a recognized university or equivalent.

Monthly Emoluments for Senior Project Associate:

Rs. 42000/- + HRA

(B) No. of post for Project Assistant II : (1 Post) (DCM SHRIRAM, Sponsored Project).

Essential qualifications for Project Assistant – II:

B.Sc. Degree in Microbiology/Biotechnology/Botany from a recognised University or equivalent.

Monthly Emoluments for Project Assistant – II:

Rs. 20000/- + HRA

Desirable: Candidates having research experience in the area of Microalgal Biotechnology or Microalgal Mass Cultivation or Valorisation of Microalgal Biomass and experience in the area of microbial fermentation would be preferred. The selected candidate will have to work on the project entitled “Microbial synthesis of Polyhydroxyalkanoates and Poly Lactic acid” for a period of one year. The candidate would be working in optimization of upstream process, purification of polyhydroxyalkanoate, nutraceutical formulation, process development and demonstration of the above processes.

Job Requirement: Competency in downstream processing of polyhydroxyalkanoate, microalgal mass cultivation, optimization of upstream conditions for improving biomass yield, and process scale up would be preferred.

Age: (As on the last date of receipt of applications through e-mail, i.e. 03/05/2026), maximum 40 years for Senior Project Associate and 35 years for Project Assistant II. Age relaxation is applicable as per CSIR rules.

Duration: These positions are purely temporary. It would, not confer any right/claim implicit or explicit for any candidate for claiming absorption in CSIR- CSMCRI.
