Essential Qualification: Master’s degree (M.Sc. or M.Sc. (Ag) in Agriculture / Biotechnology / Biochemistry / Agriculture Biochemistry / Plant Science) from a recognized university

Preferred experience: Basic knowledge of Plant Biotechnology / Biochemistry / Seaweed and laboratory skills/ethics to execute/deal the experimentations

Monthly emoluments:

(a) ₹. 31,000/- + HRA (as applicable) for those candidates who have qualified CSIR-UGC / ICAR / ICMR NET including lectureship/assistant professorship or GATE or those who have qualified National level examinations conducted by Central Government Department like DBT/DST or equivalent and/or their Agencies/Institutions

(b) ₹ 25,000/- + HRA (as applicable) for others who do not fall under (a) above

Job description: Selected candidate will work on the WP-03 (Edible seaweed-based product(s) characterization and consumer acceptance) of CSIR sponsored project, HCP0024 (III Phase). The candidates are expected to design/ execute the experiments as well as visit the seaweed growing sites for fulfilling the project objectives.

Essential Qualifications: Doctoral Degree in any branch of Biological Science with specialization in Plant Molecular Biology / Plant Biotechnology from a recognized university or equivalent.

and

2 years experience in research and development in industrial and academic institutions or science and technology organizations and scientific activities and services.

Preferred experience: Knowledge of bioinformatics, transcriptomics, metagenomics, DNA fingerprinting, gene expression studies, and published doctoral work in SCI Journals. Candidates with experience after Ph.D. will be preferred.

Monthly emoluments: 42,000/- + HRA (as applicable)

Job description: Selected candidate will work on the WP-04 (seaweed-based biostimulant related work) of CSIR sponsored project, HCP0024 (Phase-III).

Other details:

Duration: This position is purely temporary, initially for one year and subsequently extendable based on work performance up to project duration, whichever is earlier.

This post is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. The engagement of a project staff in different projects either in the CSIR - Central Salt & Marine Chemicals Research Institute, Bhavnagar or different Laboratories/Institutes of CSIR taken together shall not exceed 06 years in any case. It would, therefore, not confer any right/claim implicit or explicit for any candidate for claiming extension or absorption in CSIR-CSMCRI, Bhavnagar. 

The decision of Director, CSIR-CSMCRI in all matters relating to eligibility, acceptance or rejection of applications, mode of selection, conduct of interview, cancellation of advertisement etc.  will be final and binding on the candidates and no enquiry or correspondence will be entertained in this connection from any individual or person or agency.

The number of vacancies is provisional and may vary. The Director, CSIR-CSMCRI reserves the right to cancel all or part of the advertised vacancies at any stage of recruitment process without giving any reason thereof.

In case of Universities/Institutes awarding CGPA/SGPA/OGPA Grades etc., candidates are requested to convert the same into percentage based on the formula as per their University/Institute and attached accordingly.
