INTERVIEW FOR THE POST OF PROJECT ASSOCIATE I

Project Associate-I: 01 post

Essential Qualifications: M. Sc. in Chemistry

Desirable experience: Candidates having an M. Sc. with a specialization in Organic Chemistry and sound knowledge in organic synthesis and chemical process development are desirable. The selected candidates will have to work on the project entitled “Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients for Affordable Health Care”. The candidate will work on organic synthesis, natural products and their analogues, characterization of organic molecules, reaction optimization and demonstration of the above processes.

Monthly Emoluments:

1. Rs.31,000/- + HRA as applicable for those candidates who have qualified CSIR-UGC/ICAR/ICMR NET incl. lectureship/assistant professorship OR GATE OR those who have qualified National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments like DBT/DST or equivalent and/or their Agencies/Institutions
2. Rs.25,000/- + HRA as applicable for others who do not fall under (a), as above.

Age: Maximum 35 years (As on the last date of receipt of applications through e-mail, i.e. 14/08/2026). Age relaxation is applicable as per CSIR rules.

Duration: Up to March 31, 2028.

This post is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. The engagement of a project staff in different projects either in the CSIR - Central Salt & Marine Chemicals Research Institute, Bhavnagar or different Lab./Instt. of CSIR taken together shall not exceed 06 years in any case. It would, therefore, not confer any right/claim implicit or explicit for any candidate for claiming extension or absorption in CSIR-CSMCRI, Bhavnagar.

The last date of receipt of E-mail is 14/08/2026. Applications received by email will be scrutinized based on certain criteria and only shortlisted candidates who are eligible as per the criteria will be asked to attend the interview off line/online mode, i.e., MS-Team. The details of the interview will be sent to the shortlisted candidates by email.

The candidates are requested to send their Application Form with the following details: (1) Full name and postal address with an e-mail address, contact no. etc., (2) Proof of date of birth, (3) Details of educational qualifications, NET/GATE qualified certificate and experience (if any) together with the scanned copies of all certificates/ testimonials.

Terms and conditions:

1. The decision of Director, CSIR-CSMCRI in all matters relating to eligibility, acceptance or rejection of applications, mode of selection, conduct of interview, cancellation of advertisement etc.  will be final and binding on the candidates and no enquiry or correspondence will be entertained in this connection from any individual or person or agency.

2. The number of vacancies is provisional and may vary. The Director, CSIR-CSMCRI reserves the right to cancel all or part of the advertised vacancies at any stage of recruitment process without giving any reason thereof.

3. Age relaxation for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/Women categories shall be as per Government of India/CSIR instructions issued from time to time.

4. In case of Universities/Institutes awarding CGPA/SGPA/OGPA Grades etc., candidates are requested to convert the same into percentage based on the formula as per their University/Institute and attached accordingly.

5. If it is found at any stage of the process or thereafter that the candidate does not fulfill the eligibility criteria, their candidature shall be cancelled without assigning any reason whatsoever.

6. Experience certificates must clearly indicate the duration of experience, place of work, and position held. Contractual work experience will not be considered as part of experience.

7. Candidates shall ensure Internet Connectivity, Webcam & necessary software at their level to attend the online interview. CSIR-CSMCRI shall not be responsible for any connectivity failure or communication faults in the Web-mode interview.

8. Since the document verification process cannot be followed in the interviews online mode, all selections would be provisional subject to verification of all relevant documents.

9. No TA/DA will be admissible for attending the interview.
