Essential Qualifications:

Masters/Integrated Masters in Natural Sciences with specialization in Pharmaceutical Chemistry / Phytochemistry / Zoology

Or    

  Masters/Integrated Masters in Pharmaceutical Science with specialization in Medicinal Chemistry / Pharmaceutical Chemistry / Natural Products / Pharmacognosy / Pharmacology

Monthly Emoluments:

1. ₹ 31000 + HRA for those candidates who have qualified CSIR-UGC / ICAR / ICMR NET incl. lectureship/assistant professorship or GATE OR those who have qualified National level examinations conducted by Central Government departments like DBT/DST/ or equivalent and/or their Agencies/Institutions
2. ₹ 25000 + HRA for other who do not fall under (a) above

Age:  

The upper age limit for Project Associate (PAT-I) is 35 years as on the day of Walk-in-Interview. Age relaxation as per rules.

Job requirements:

The selected candidate will work on the project entitled “Towards discovery and development of novel drugs and pharmaceuticals”. Candidates having previous experience with extraction, chromatographic separation, and structure elucidation of secondary metabolites from natural sources using NMR & MS and formulation & development will be preferred.

Interested candidates are requested to appear before the Selection Committee for an interview at CSIR-Central Salt and Marine Chemicals Research Institute, G. B. Marg, Bhavnagar-364002 (Gujarat) on 14/08/2026 (Friday) at 9.30 AM. Candidates are requested to bring with them the filled Application form along with necessary documents.

This post is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. The engagement of a project staff in different projects either in the CSIR - Central Salt & Marine Chemicals Research Institute, Bhavnagar or different Lab./Instt. of CSIR taken together shall not exceed 06 years in any case. It would, therefore, not confer any right/claim implicit or explicit for any candidate for claiming extension or absorption in CSIR-CSMCRI, Bhavnagar. No TA/DA is admissible for attending the interview.

Terms and conditions

1.       The decision of Director, CSIR-CSMCRI in all matters relating to eligibility, acceptance or rejection of applications, mode of selection, conduct of interview, cancellation of advertisement etc.  will be final and binding on the candidates and no enquiry or correspondence will be entertained in this connection from any individual or person or agency.

2.       The number of vacancies is provisional and may vary. The Director, CSIR-CSMCRI reserves the right to cancel all or part of the advertised vacancies at any stage of recruitment process without giving any reason thereof.

3.       Age relaxation for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/Women categories shall be as per Government of India/CSIR instructions issued from time to time.

4.       In case of Universities/Institutes awarding CGPA/SGPA/OGPA Grades etc., candidates are requested to convert the same into percentage based on the formula as per their University/Institute and attached accordingly.

5.       If it is found at any stage of the process or thereafter that the candidate does not fulfill the eligibility criteria their candidature shall be cancelled without assigning any reason whatsoever.

6.       Experience certificates must clearly indicate the duration of experience, place of work, and position held. Contractual work experience will not be considered as part of experience.
