M.Sc. Botany from a recognized University

Basic knowledge in Botany, and seaweed culture, cultivation

  1. Rs. 31000+HRA (as applicable) for those candidates who have qualified CSIR-UGC/ ICAR/ICMR NET incl. lectureship/assistant professorship or GATE OR those who have qualified national level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments like DBT/DST or equivalent and/or their Agencies/Institutions

 

(b) Rs. 25,000/-+ HRA (as applicable) for others who do not fall under (a) above

Job description: Selected candidate will work on seaweed culture and cultivation sponsored project, entitled “Identification of potential locations across India for seaweed cultivation”. The selected candidate needs to do culturing, life history studies of selected seaweeds, collection of seaweeds, seedling production through advanced tissue culture techniques, scientific data generation of seaweed cultivation, record of environmental parameters, physico-chemical analysis of seawater, land-based tank cultivation at the institute’s experimental salt farm

Applications received in the prescribed format and by e-mail will be scrutinized based on the candidate’s academic background with certain criteria, and shortlisted candidates who are eligible as per the criteria will be asked to attend the interview on a later date. The details of the interview will be sent to shortlisted candidates by e-mail only. These posts are purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. The engagement of a project staff in different projects either in the CSIR - Central Salt & Marine Chemicals Research Institute, Bhavnagar or different Lab./Instt. of CSIR taken together shall not exceed 6 years in any case. It would, therefore, not confer any right/claim implicit or explicit for any candidate for claiming extension or absorption in CSIR-CSMCRI, Bhavnagar.   Application may be sent by email on or before 21st August 2026 (23:59 hrs).
