Applications are invited for Project Assistant to work in the research project entitled “ Improving the quality and yield of salt produced by the marginal agarias of Kutch, Gujarat (Halwad Region) through scientific intervention and improving their income through value addition of bitterns, halophyte plantation and potable water recovery” under SEED/ASACODER-027-055/2018 (G), funded by   SEED Division, Department of science and technology, Govt. of India, New Delhi for four month (Up to June 2024)

Post:  Project Assistant - 1 Post

Essential qualifications :  B.Sc. degree (Chemistry/ Botany)

Monthly Emoluments: Rs. 20000/- + HRA 

Desirable: Candidates having experience in the area of Chemistry/Botany would be preferred. Competency in chemical analysis and knowledge of solar salt production would be preferred. The selected candidate will have to work on the project entitled “Improving the quality and yield of salt produced by the marginal agarias of Kutch, Gujarat (Halwad Region) through scientific intervention and improving their income through value addition of bitterns, halophyte plantation and potable water recovery.” under under SEED/ASACODER-027-055/2018 (G), funded by   SEED Division, Department of science and technology, Govt. of  India, New Delhi for four month (Up to June 2024). The candidate would be expected to work in field and in the lab.

Job Requirement: Competency in chemical analysis of salt and brine samples and downstream processing of bittern would be preferred.

Age: (As on the last date of receipt of applications through e-mail, i.e. 28/02/2024), maximum 50 years.

Duration: This post is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. The engagement of a project staff in different projects either in the CSIR-Central Salt & Marine Chemicals Research Institute, Bhavnagar or different Lab./Instt. of CSIR taken together shall not exceed 5 years in any case. It would, therefore, not confer any right/ claim implicit or explicit for any candidate for claiming extension or absorption in CSIR-CSMCRI, Bhavnagar. The total duration of only four month for this post.
