Post No-1: Project Associate I:  01 post

Applications are invited from suitable candidates for Project Associate-I to work at CSIR-CSMCRI for CSIR funded project on Modernization of Experimental Salt Farm of CSIR-CSMCRI in light of scientific design and layout’ (Project No. MLP-0068)

Essential Qualifications:  B.E./B. Tech. Civil Engineering from a recognized university or equivalent

  • Desirable Qualification: Assisting scientists in various R&D activities and project implementation related to development of Model salt works. Candidate have knowledge about AutoCAD 2D and 3D that will be implement during execution of model salt works. Field-scale experiments Construction / Maintenance of earthen channel for transfer of brine. Brine management and monitoring, data recording. Installation of pumps at various locations of ESF for brine transfer. Fieldwork for civil surveying, designing and estimating the work packages for the development of model salt works in 150 Acres area in ESF, Kumbharwada. Site supervision throughout day during the execution work of development of Model salt works at ESF. Field-scale experiments Construction / Maintenance of earthen channel for transfer of brine. Collection of seawater during high tide, Transfer of seawater into reservoirs. ESF related and Project related Office procedures, preparing tenders, recording Measurement sheet, Preparing indents, quality assurance during construction. Tidal data Collected, Brine transfer data Collected.

Duration: These positions are purely temporary for the period of one year. The posts are extendable up to 12/07/2025 as per the performance of the candidate. These positions are purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. The engagement of a project staff in different projects either in the CSIR - Central Salt & Marine Chemicals Research Institute, Bhavnagar or different Lab./Instt. of CSIR taken together shall not exceed 5 years in any case. It would, therefore, not confer any right/claim implicit or explicit for any candidate for claiming extension or absorption in CSIR-CSMCRI, Bhavnagar.   

Post No. 2: Project associate-I: 01 post

 

The selected candidate will have to work on the CSIR funded project of CSMCRI titled Utilization of industrial waste generated from Soda ash and choler-alkali industry for development of alkali activated sustainable concrete saltpan bed for salt industry to reduce brine losses through seepage and to strengthen for mechanized loading. (Project No. HCP00054)

Essential Qualifications: B.E/B.Tech. Civil Engineering from a recognized university or equivalent

Desirable Experience & Job Description:

M.E/M. Tech in Water Resources Engineering/Hydraulic/  Hydrological Engineering. Preference will be given to the candidate who have sound knowledge of basic fluid dynamic, open channel flow, water resources models and worked on similar project on designing and modelling of Solar Salt works and open channels, mapping of saline land in AcrGIS and flood predictions and inundation mapping using MIKE/HEC-RAS software, numerical modelling. Knowledge of modelling in water resources are desirable. She/he will also be required to travel for site work. Knowledge of Remote sensing techniques would be added advantage.

Duration: These positions are purely temporary for the period of one year. The posts are extendable up to 31/03/2026 as per the performance of the candidate. These positions are purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. The engagement of a project staff in different projects either in the CSIR - Central Salt & Marine Chemicals Research Institute, Bhavnagar or different Lab./Instt. of CSIR taken together shall not exceed 5 years in any case. It would, therefore, not confer any right/claim implicit or explicit for any candidate for claiming extension or absorption in CSIR-CSMCRI, Bhavnagar.   

Emoluments for Post No.1 & 2:

  1.  Rs. 31000/- + HRA to scholars who are selected through (a) National Eligibility Tests-CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE OR (b) A selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their agencies and institutions.               

  1. Rs. 25000/- + HRA for others who do not fall under (i) above.  

Post No. 3: Project associate-I: 01 post

 

The selected candidate will have to work on the industry Tata Chemicals Ltd. sponsored R&D project of CSMCRI titled Improving salt works productivity by enhancing the evaporation rate and effective brine management “Study of existing design and layout of salt compartments in Salt Works of TCL for Improving salt works productivity by effective brine management and assessment of present brine circuit at TCL” (Project No. SSP1448).

Essential Qualifications: B.E/B.Tech. Civil Engineering from a recognized university or equivalent

Desirable Experience & Job Description:

M.E/M. Tech in Civil Engineering, Water Resources Engineering/Hydraulic/ Hydrological Engineering/ Urban planning/Town Planning. The selected candidate has to work closely with Scientist of CSMCRI and Officers of Tata Chemicals Ltd., Mithapur for the increasing productivity by scientific design, flood mapping and rain wate r and brine management of Solar Salt works at TCL, Mithapur, Near Devbhoomi Dwaraka, Gujarat. Preference will be given to the candidate who have sound knowledge of ArcGIS Mapping, Application of Remote sensing techniques for Lan Use Land Cover Analysis, Flood inundation mapping using MIKE/HEC-RAS software, AutoCAD, Numerical Modelling. further, preference will be given to the candidate who has knowledge of Surveying and contour mapping of the land, basic fluid dynamic, open channel flow, water resources models and worked on similar project on designing and modelling of Solar Salt works and open channels, mapping of saline land in AcrGIS and flood predictions etc. Knowledge of modelling in water resources are desirable. She/he will also be required to travel from Bhavnagar to Mithapur for project activities.

Duration: These positions are purely temporary for the period of 8 months. The post is not extendable after completion of 8 months. These positions are purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. The engagement of a project staff in different projects either in the CSIR - Central Salt & Marine Chemicals Research Institute, Bhavnagar or different Lab./Instt. of CSIR taken together shall not exceed 5 years in any case. It would, therefore, not confer any right/claim implicit or explicit for any candidate for claiming extension or absorption in CSIR-CSMCRI, Bhavnagar.   

Emoluments for Post No. 3

  1. Rs. 25000/- + HRA candidates as per the approved proposal by Industry sponsored project No. SSP1448.

Age: As on the last date of receipt of the application, maximum 35 years. Age relaxation is applicable as per CSIR rules.
