Applications are invited from talented and motivated candidates in the area of chemical sciences, with Dr. Shilpi Kushwaha, Sr. Scientist, CSIR-CSMCRI, Bhavnagar, Gujarat. The number of positions are tentative and may vary at the time of interview.
Essential Qualification(s) for Project Associate-I (PAT-I): M.Sc. in Chemical/Physical sciences (Organic/ Inorganic/ Physical/ Applied Chemistry) and selected through a process described through any one of the following:
Monthly emoluments for Project Associate-I (PAT-I):
(a) ₹31,000 + HRA for candidates who have qualified CSIR-UGC NET, ICAR NET, ICMR NET (including Lectureship/Assistant Professorship), GATE, or National-level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments such as DBT, DST, or equivalent agencies/institutions.
(b) ₹25,000 + HRA for candidates who do not fall under the eligibility criteria specified in (a) above.
Age: Maximum 35 years for Project Associate-I (PAT-I) as on the last date of application. Age relaxation is applicable as per rules.
Job Description: Selected candidate will work under MOES funded project, “Unconventional uranium mining from seawater: A progressive approach for resource recovery”. The main objective of this project involve synthesis and characterization of functionalized molecules to impart U selectivity, high surface area, porosity, hydrolytic, chemical and mechanical stability. Transformation of these molecules to supra-molecular materials/ frameworks/ polymers, and investigate their self-assembly to 2D sheets/ fibres/ thin films and their membranes for efficient Uranium extraction from seawater via assisted adsorption and other methods.

Duration of the project: The initial appointment is for one year, this position is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. The engagement of a project staff in different projects either in the CSIR-Central Salt & Marine Chemicals Research Institute, Bhavnagar or different Lab./Instt. of CSIR taken together shall not exceed 6 years in any case. It would, therefore, not confer any right/claim implicit or explicit for any candidate for claiming extension or absorption in CSIR-CSMCRI, Bhavnagar.

The last date of e-mail receipt of filled-in application form is 10/07/2026. Incomplete applications would be rejected during screening. Applications received by e-mail will be scrutinized based on certain selection criteria. Only short-listed candidates will be asked to attend the interview through online mode (Skype or MS Teams). Details of the interview will be intimated to such candidates by e-mail. No TA/DA will be admissible for attending the interview.
TERMS and CONDITIONS.
1. The decision of Director, CSIR-CSMCRI in all matters relating to eligibility, acceptance or rejection of applications, mode of selection, conduct of interview, cancellation of advertisement etc. will be final and binding on the candidates and no enquiry or correspondence will be entertained in this connection from any individual or person or agency.
2. The number of vacancies is provisional and may vary. The Director, CSIR-CSMCRI reserves the right to cancel all or part of the advertised vacancies at any stage of recruitment process without giving any reason thereof.
3. Age relaxation for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/Women categories shall be as per Government of India/CSIR instructions issued from time to time.
4. In case of Universities/Institutes awarding CGPA/SGPA/OGPA Grades etc., candidates are requested to convert the same into percentage based on the formula as per their University/Institute and attached accordingly.
5. If it is found at any stage of the process or thereafter that the candidate does not fulfill the eligibility criteria their candidature shall be cancelled without assigning any reason whatsoever.
6. Furnishing incorrect or misleading information will lead to rejection of candidature.
7. Experience certificates must clearly indicate the duration of experience, place of work, and position held. Contractual work experience will not be considered as part of experience.
