Project Title: Designing a computational framework for chemicals recovery from brines: Integrating data analytics, Machine Learning (ML), optimization, and techno-economics analysis

Essential:

B.E./B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering/Chemical Technology from a recognized university or equivalent

Desirable:

Prior experience in in mathematical modeling/computer programming /simulations/software packages

(i) 31000/- + HRA to scholars who are selected through (a) National Eligibility Tests-CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE OR (b) A selection process through National level examinations conducted by central government Departments and their agencies and institutions.

(ii) 25000/- + HRA for others  who do not fall under (i) above.

The selected candidate is required to work on the developing a computational framework for chemicals recovery from brines by using data analytics, machine learning (ML), optimization, and techno-economics analysis.

  2. Experience/expertise in MATLAB or any other process simulation software

Process modeling and simulation as well as experimental work for ensuring sustainability in membrane-based  separation/desalination.

Project Title: innovative salt house concept for efficient and sustainable salt production

Essential:

B.E./B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university or equivalent

Desirable:

  1. Expertise and experiences in engineering drawing, designing and fabrication of equipment
  2. This role demands hands-on involvement from conceptual design to practical implementation and ongoing monitoring for optimization.
  3. Preference will be given to candidates who are self-motivated, diligent, and capable of rigorous fieldwork both physically and mentally.
  4. Proficiency in Hindi/Gujarati languages are desirable.

The selected candidate will have to work with scientific and technical staff in the field and at the institute. The candidate have to design, drawing of solar-thermal/mechanical equipment, procurement, material handling, installation & commissioning of the system, overall site supervision, data collection & analysis, monitoring & inspection, optimization, and extensive field work within salt-related field activities.

Project Title: Study of TFN membrane fabrication conditions for water desalination through forward osmosis process: application of machine learning algorithms

Essential:

BE/B.Tech in Chemical/Mechanical/ Environmental Engineering from a recognized university or equivalent.

Desirable:

Experience/expertise in MATLAB/Machine learning/ process simulation software.

The selected candidate is required to work on modeling, simulation, and experimental work related to membrane processes for water treatments.

Age: Maximum 35 years as on the last date of receipt of application (i.e.02/05/2024) through email. Age relaxation is applicable as per the CSIR rule.

Duration: These positions are purely temporary for the duration (one year) of the project and co-terminus with the project. The engagement of project staff in different projects either in the CSIR-CSMCRI, or different Lab/Instt, of CSIR taken together shall not exceed five years in any case. It would not confer any right/claim implicit or explicit for any candidate for claiming absorption in CSIR-CSMCRI, Bhavnagar.
